Made in 1896, this Rex brand was made in Chicago. The third wheel with attached frame member supporting the saddle is an attempt to reduce the amount of impact on the rider's seat when riding over rough terrain.

The design was not very successful and was probably offered more as a marketing device than as a functional suspension design
