Don't be a square, Daddy-O. Spend your bread on some hip hoops and and you'll be one cool cat. |
Don't Let A Broken Bike Part Ruin Your Trip - When traveling with your bike, it's a good idea to always pack a few repair parts in your bike case. That way, if something breaks, you'll be prepared and you won't have to scramble to find a bike shop or run the risk of not finding what you need. Here's what we take along: A spare seat-binder bolt. It's an item that can easily break when you're re-installing your seatpost and adjusting your seat. If your bike has a replaceable rear derailleur hanger, a spare can be a trip-saver should you fall and damage yours (or if the frame gets damaged in transit by the airline). If you have a road bike that has 650c tires, carry two spare tubes and a spare tire because, though this size is becoming more common, it still can be tough to find. Always carry a chain tool and spare chain pins (if your chain requires them) to deal with chain problems. Other handy small parts are replacement stem bolts, clipless pedal tension-adjustment screws, spokes (these must match what's in your wheels), and brake and gear cables.
